Skip Navigation LinksPrinting > Firefox Print Problems & How To Correct

Some customers may notice their printing automatically changes from Adobe to the new Firefox printing handler. Firefox versions 19 and higher now include built-in support for PDF handling that doesn't rely on external add-ons like Adobe Reader. The built-in PDF handler sometimes causes printing problems for MyOnlineToolbox.  If you'd like to go back to your usual PDF handler such as Adobe you can do so by:

  1. Go to the Firefox menu, go to Tools or Options, then click Options  (or possibly go to the Firefox menu and click Preferences).
  2. Click the Applications tab.
  3. Change Portable Document Format (PDF) to Adobe Reader or your PDF handler of choice.
  4. Click OK.

Firefox's built-in PDF handler is enabled by default, but if you opt to use it you may need to remove unwanted header/footer info such as the URL of the page.  For Windows you can correct by:

  1. Go to the Firefox menu, go to Print, then click Page Setup.
  2. Click the Margins & Header/Footer tab.
  3. In the Headers & Footers section, set each of the six drop-down fields to --blank-- .
  4. Click OK.
